‘COVID-19’, which influenced our livesThe worldwide surge in COVID-19 infections, resulting in the postponement of events at home and abroad

Now that the cold winter has passed and the flowers have blossomed beautifully with the warm sunshine, the landscape outside is quite different from last year's. Various festivals became hard to find, and people who traveled from different regions became cautious or cut off, and few people were left. Why have the number of people who were looking for festivals decreased, and the number of people who were out there decreased? This is because of ‘COVID-19’. Last December, COVID-19 in China quickly spread around the world, causing many infections. Accordingly, the nation refrained from outside activities to people, and many festivals and events were postponed or canceled.

In 2020, there had be designed the biggest event in the world this year. It is the "2020 Tokyo Olympics." The quadrennial Olympics were scheduled to be held in Tokyo, Japan this year. However, ‘COVID-19’ has resulted in a delay to July 23, 2021, from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). These large and small events have been postponed due to ‘COVID- 19’. Let's find out about the changed events related to us.

The first event to look into is "The opening day of the our school." With 'COVID-19' confirmed cases rising both at home and abroad, the government has pushed back the opening date of kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools and high schools in Korea, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections through the Ministry of Education. Our university decided to have a home campus class for the first semester and is replacing it with online lectures.

Second, the library of our university is temporarily closed and partially opened. Our university's facilities also did not avoid the impact of 'COVID-19'. Public places have been temporarily closed because many people staying together in one place can spread the 'COVID-19' infection. Our university has also run a library in line with the opening day of our school year schedule to prevent the spread of 'COVID-19' infections. The central library has decided to temporarily close the library until further notice. The library is closed, but book-booking loan services will be operated.

From that day Students will be allowed in and out, but they must be checked for body temperature. However, E-books and electronic journals in libraries are available for normal use Please refer to our university homepage for more details.

I'm very sorry that 'COVID-19' has delayed or canceled events that you have been waiting for so long. But let's hope we can overcome this difficult time together and return to our daily life.
